The action sounds a bit complex in my book. A possible way to simplify things is to have a Passed and a Failed page. Create a chapter after the test, put these pages in there, and disinherit the back/next arrows. On the Passed page, there is an On Show; Modify Variable; AICC_Lesson_Status; completed; Set Variable Contents. (In your case, it sounds like "C" is needed in place of completed.) In the Test properties, the When Completed/Passed tab goes to the Passed page; the When Canceled/Failed tab goes to the Failed page. Users only see the Passed page if they actually pass the test, so it simplifies the actions. It's worth a shot.
