Pause button

Help . . . I have created navigation buttons (page back, forward, home, exit) What I would like to add is a pause or stop button. When I choose a pause or stop action using on click, it doesn't give me a target. I want to just stop the swf where ever the user is. Does this only work on audio and video? Is there another way of going about this? I'm using Enterprise edition.
