One test for two Assignable Units?

That will depend on your LMS. Some LMS' are programmed to do a score/mastery score comparison and based on that, determine a status for the AU. Other LMS' do not do this and rely solely on the course to issue the status. In the first case, you would not need an action to set the status but in the second case you would. If you are not sure if your LMS does a score/mastery score comparison then I would recommend placing the action in all the AUs for your course.That will depend on your LMS.
