Mute background audio!

Hello there, I am developing a courseware in Lectora in which I have placed a background sound. I want now to contol the sound ON/OFF with a button. Can some body tell me how can I do that. From my R&D I found that the background sound file is converted to FLV and further loaded into a SWF and then played.
