Linking to pdf.

I am working with Lectora 2005 and I am trying to link to a .pdf document having it launch in a separate window. I have my action on Go To, and my Target as theFileName.pdf, however, when I test it in preview and in the html published version I just get a _blank window (literally blank). I already added my file to the Additional Files tab of the title's properties. Does this feature not work with 2005? Please help my client reviews on Monday...

Thank you Andy, I tried putting the back "" slash in front of extern, and it didn't work when I tried to view it in the preview mode, or the local view. Even though I have all the service packs, it could be that I am working with Window 2000. However, I did place the extern file in our web server with a forward "/" slash instead and it worked viewing it online. I am just curious to know why when putting "extern" I am not able to see locally.~B

BerniceIn looking at the code you have thefilename.pdf try putting extern in front of it.(externthefilename.pdf) That should take care of your problemI am running 2005 with XP and all service packs and it works on my machine showing up as a new window. If not let me know and we can try plan BAndy

I think that it is one of those less than clearly documented quirks that some items are not seen until published. Gives me about the same level of joy when I preview something localy and all seem well until I publish to HTML and post to web and the formating is off.If we truly learn from our errors I am going to be a genius soon!Andy
