How to improve load time for .mpg files

They range in size from 1.4 to 4.5 MB. I realize those are very big, but in order to maintain the quality, I'm stuck with that. One person suggested I convert them as flash files which will probably help a great deal. Any other ideas would be appreciated too. Thanks!They range in size from 1.4 to 4.5 MB.
