Highlight menu item when selected

Hi, I am working on a title, where I have a number of menus within pages to display different text:eg: I have a menu with 4 items in it, when you click on each item, a description reveals next to the menu. My problem is, once the user clicks the menu item, nothing displays in the menu to show the user what they clicked on. Is it possible to have the menu item highlight and stay highlighted when it is clicked (it would become un highlighted when another menu item is clicked?)Thanks
