Hiding previous action

Hi all,

Hopefully you could help me with this.

I have a page with a list of check boxes a participant can check at random. once a box is checked an image flies in as an example.

Am I able to hide previous actions when another check box is ticked? ie if I check box A image A appears. if I check box B image B appears and image A disappears.

This is simple if I have just two check boxes, I could just say show B and hide A and visa versa on both boxes. But if I have multiple check boxes I will have to have loads of actions on each check box to hide whatever is showing. For example if I had check boxes ABCDEF then on each action I would have to have Show F and hide ABCDE or show E and hide ABCDF or show B and hide ACDEF etc.

Is there a way I can set the boxes to hide the previous action so no matter what order I clicked the boxes it would just hide the previous action and hence the previous image displayed.

Would it maybe be easier to do this with radio buttons rather than check boxes?

Sorry hope that made sense?

You need to add a Radio Button Group, then place your radio buttons in that group. (Radio Button Group button is above the one for Radio Button on the Test & Survey tab.)

Great thanks very much.

Hi Tim,

just one more question on the radio button. I have changed all the check boxes to radio buttons which is much better. However it seems that I can only check the radio button once. Each time I select another radio button the previous one retains its selection and does not allow me to choose it again. Where is the setting that only allows one radio button to be checked at once?

thanks

Put all your images into a group. Mark all images in the title explorer on the left side -> right click -> group. Check "initially invisible" in the groups properties.

For each checkbox you'll need two actions:

1. Hide group

2. Show appropriate image

It will definitely be easier to use radio buttons instead of checkboxes if you want to show only one image at a time.
