Have a module open another module

Hello! I need some help.

We have a module that was sent to us using .zip. I am unable to edit and open it in Lectora. What we want to do it make it to where we can incorporate that .zip file into a new Lectora .SWT so we can add things before and after the module. Also, whenever it gets to the module, when we select exit, we would need it to resume the person's place to where they were in the new module that was created around it. Can anyone assist?

If the .zip file you received is a published package, you can't convert it into Lectora. That simply isn't a feature of the packaging formats--they don't have the information needed to edit the course.

If you post a listing of the contents of your .zip file, we will be able to tell you what kind of file it is.

That looks like an old Storyline course. It has Flash, so it's old. It is the published version and just plain can't be reversed back into the version you can edit. You'll have to rebuild the course, if you can't get the source file somehow.

The file you need will end in ".story", if that helps.

Good Morning, Here is a picture of the zip file and the contents found inside of the zip file. Unfortunately, this is all I was given.

Thank you for the information and all of your help Carl!

Might be useful.

Even if you get the source file from one course, it may not be possible to create a SCORM course that opens a different course and returns back to same course. That isn't a function of an LMS... You may be able to create one course in an LMS with 3 scorm packages, where you make part 1(first part of your module), part 2(what you want to embed), part 3 (what happens when they return) so experience will be similar to what you are describing, but the user would launch them sequentially and as prerequisites.
