Form Element Gel Buttons

Here's one that I have not seen before:
On the Preferences > Form Elements menu, I enabled the gel buttons for checkboxes. They work great.
But when publishing to HTML or SCORM and then opening the browser window to full screen, depending on your resolution there will be white space on either side of the course page (since I use the centering feature). If your white space is wide enough, I noticed that traditional checkboxes appeared way off to the left of the page in the white space (in addition to the gel boxes in their correct positions on the page). (See the attached screen shot.)
These traditional checkboxes appear to be duplicates of the gel buttons, even down to their relative positions (just offset way to the left). They also appear to be linked to the gel boxes since when I check either the gel box or the traditional box (yes, you can click the traditional boxes way off to the side), the corresponding duplicate box also checks.
I tried republishing with the traditional boxes, and the duplicate boxes went away. So I am presuming that for some reason the program is intentionally creating these duplicate boxes when using the gel boxes and attempting to 'hide' the traditional boxes by placing them way off to the left.
The program works fine, it just looks weird and I don't want to run the chance that somone with a high enough resolution will see them.
Is there a way to do away with these duplicate boxes (besides not using the gel boxes)?
