Errors Opening a file
July 18, 2007 12:00 AM
I was working on a file last Friday with no problems whatsoever. Starting Monday, I'm getting this error after double-clicking the document to open it (It opens Lectora itself, then gives me this without opening the program):"Lectora Professional Publishing Suite has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on may be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem....." (Then I have the option to Debug, Send to MS or Cancel...Anyone able to help - I REALLY need to get back into this document - it's HUGE and I'm still working on it...it was fine on Friday when I saved and logged out of it. I had this happen with an earlier version of another training module I was working on, but for some reason that one wouldn't save to the network drive, only to my local drive. I finally had to re-create the that whole module and it allowed me to save it to the network drive (which is auto-backed up). I can open all my other files just fine, and create new ones, so I am doubtful of the issue being with the Lectora software. This problem appears to be only with that file. I just cannot re-create this project, as there has already been about 2 months worth of work gone into it, and while I do/have been backing up often, I hadn't published a version of my work to even have that to print out and try to re-create the new, in-depth test questions I created, and sections, etc.If I select Debug, it closes the program completely. If I select "Don't Send" it closes the program completely. If I select "Send Error Report" it sends a report to Microsoft, I guess...THANKS!!!
