error message some users see when first starting Lectora Desktop version 21.4.4 and how to resolve this issue?

Hi Ekmud!
This error message happens when users are having internet connection issues, or a firewall or other software is blocking access to the global properties file. You should still be able to run Lectora, you just won't have the latest values from that file. We suggest you try use this link and tell your IT folks to whitelist the URLs in the first half of the document.
If not we suggest you update to the latest version, 21.5.3!
