ELB interaction Glossary, Inspiron 12

Hi, please can someone help me to show/hide the glossary. I have the Flash file at Title level and have added a button, image and actions as Flash Commands to Play/Stop Glossary. I have tried many alternatives, but I'm at the end of my tether after 2 months! It won't work!! I've tried reviewing the documentation, but can't find an answer. I understood the ELB Interaction Templates to be easy to use, but I really don't know what I'm doing wrong!

And is your flash player up to date? There was issues recently that require some attention to resolve it. More details can be found here: http://community.trivantis.com/forums/topic/adobe-flash-player-known-issue-please-read/

If Tim's suggestion doesn't work can you provide the file by attaching it so we can have a look at your title? Also, what are you trying to view the course in; HTML, SCORM, within the program? And what device are you using?

Maybe I didn't understand the issue correctly. When I create a Glossary from ELB and place the SWF on title level, I can just make a button do:

On: Click

Action: Hide (or Show)

Target: int_123...swf

For using "Flash commands" it is usually necessary to know exactly how the SWF was made in Flash. The Flash command "Stop" will stop the main timeline in the swf. But it seems like this SWF is made with a single frame so the timeline isn't running anyway, and thus can't be stopped or played.

It may be an idea to check "Always on top" in the glossary's properties to make sure there is nothing lying above it on the Lectora pages.

Hi Jennifer,

As the .swf was blocked, I presume that it wasn't the file you wanted.

Please can you advise.

Thanks

Jan

Thanks, Tim

That's how I set it up initially - it didn't work, so I tried using the Flash commands - still didn't work, obviously.

I reverted to your suggestion and still doesn't work, so I'll submit the files to Jennifer as requested below.

Thanks

Jan

Hi Jennifer,

My Flash player is up to date: 20,0,0,306.

I am attaching the .swf, I take it that's the file you mean. I have been trying to view in the program

Thanks

The swf might work if you place it into a folder and zip it otherwise you could try posting the whole Lectora file? If it's too big (maximum size is 102,400 KB) you can either condense it to a one page example or send it through email to jennifer.valley@trivantis.com.

Thanks, Jennifer,

I have zipped the swf as a starting point. I republished it yesterday, but it still won't work.

Thanks

Jan

I was able to get the Glossary to show up. I ended up using an action that on show I toggled the visibility. Attaching the files so you can take a look.

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much - it works in the course now!

I thought I had tried that action, but obviously, I hadn't!!

I really appreciate your help.

Best wishes

Jan
