Audio file - autoplay not working in Firefox
August 2, 2012 12:00 AM
Because we have non-Flash formats (iPAD users), I was trying to avoid using the Lectora provided skins which rely on flash.
I need the narration to autoplay to coincide with a few transitions on the slide.
Just importing the sound and placing on a slide works well for IE and Chrome. I can even attach a display image that acts as a pause button.
However, the darn mp3 will not autoplay in either Firefox or Safari. It may be the javascript code (trivantis-media.js), but that's too complicated for me on a short deadline (Monday!).
Any suggestions?!
UPDATE on this problem -- Unlike in iPad os, you can't even start the audio by clicking within Firefox. Is this just me? It seems odd that it hasn't been a problem for other people.
Here is what I have thus far:
AUTOPLAY AUDIO FILES IN LECTORA VX.6
Chrome - Yes
Safari - Yes
IE - Yes
iPad - No autoplay. Click to start only (Apple restriction)
Firefox - No autoplay. No click to start. Just plain, NO audio.

Did you ever get an answer? I'm having a similar problem using Lectora12.
