Adding a Chapter test and scoring

I'd like to test my students as they finish the chapter, and I'm running into two difficulties:1.) I selected the chapter and then added add > test. I set up the page, and now I want to add questions, so I selected the test page and tried add > question, but question was greyed out. What an I doing wrong?2.) I would like the score of this test and two other chapter tests added together for a composit score. I suppose that I use variables, but I'm not sure how to do it. Any ideas?Thank you in advance.
