.WMF Windows MetaFile when published

HiI have a photo that has been saved as a .wmf file. It is 501KB in size.When I import into Saba Publisher 5.1 (equivalent to Lectora 2005), the image looks fine. I have not resized the image.If I then publish to any html format and view in a web browser, the quality of the image has changed so much that the picture is virtually grayscale.I noticed that Publisher/Lectora is converting this image from .wmf to .gif when it publishes.Can anyone tell me what is the best method to use with .wmfs to ensure that there is as little loss in quality as possible when publishing?Also does anyone have any information on what Publisher/Lectora does when it converts the image to a gif - are there any settings that I can change to improve the final image quality?Thanks in advance.
