Video Editing Software

Hi, I've been editing video for a few years now. Certainly not a professional editor for hire, but I've downloaded, fiddled with and purchased lots of different video editors over the years. A few questions:
What platform are you on? (Mac, PC, other)
What kind of video editing do you want to do, i.e, live people, or graphic animation? Do you want slick scene transitions and graphic overlays? Give me a high level idea of what you want to accomplish
