Variables to Ensure Viewing of All Sections Before Assessment Appears

Good Morning, I have a question to ask about how to track if learners have viewed multi-page sections of a module. I have a lead page with Buttons that take learners through 10 sections of content. But what I want to do is have the lad page grey out the button once a learner returns to the lead page so that the button for that section is not usable and also tells the learner that they have viewed that section of the entire module. We have 10 sections and we want to make sure that all 10 sections are viewed before the quiz becomes available. Does that require we put a variable in for each of the sections as well as a variable for the overall progress of the module? Help, I am new to variables and don't know how to proceed.
