Turn off System Audio

Hi. I'm wondering if there is some way to place a button in Lectora that will turn off system audio. Our course audio is synched in flash, but our users would like to turn off the audio one time for the whole course... instead of on every screen. So what we're looking for is some way to turn off the audio being played in flash without having to deal with calling functions in flash and controlling the audio that way.
