Translator familiar with Lectora

I tend to agree with Griffin, if the software is in Japanese, take new screenshots; it will probably be easier in the end. As well, if it is English only, by all means do NOT translate the screen elements. Instead, annotate them appropriately in Japanese. Of course, this means you are now doing much more than just tranlating as you are effectively creating new content in these areas. This is not a job for an ordinary translator.If you are saying you are looking to do a software simulation in English that you can then use with the Japanese version, then good luck. Even if you could find a way to do this, you will likely have to tweak it extensively. As you said, some features may change altogether. And even the elements that do translate directly may result in changes to things like text box sizes, menu dimensions, etc. that will require adjustments to the simulation, possibly extensive.Overall, you are generally better off just re-doing the simulation in a like manner in the new language version (especially if you are using a good tool) than trying to use the English with adjustments, unless you know them to be essentailly identical.Anyway, that is my 2 yen of advice.
