Some group objects don't have visibility checkbox

Hi: In my current contract, I'm working in a group of developers. We recently ran into an issue when one of the other developers had to work on a file I had originally developed. Several pages have interactions where the learner clicks an object to see graphics and text that are initially invisible. The interactions work as intended on my computer. For the other developer, all of the images that should be invisible are visible from the very beginning - even before he clicks anything.
After some investigation and comparing the course on the two computers, I discovered the the group object on his computer doesn't have the visibility checkbox. The visibility checkbox is available on my group objects - and I've used it extensively. So, now, I have to go through all the courses I've developed and use the visibility option of the individual objects - not the group object - when I want to display a number of items with a single action.
My question, why is his installation different from mine? We're both using Lextora X v.6.
