Semi-Opacity Graphic Workaround

No clue on the transparent background. The only reason I can think of is for a .swf. You set its bg to transparent- so if you have a tiling background image on the html page, and want that bg to carry over into the SWF, you do the transparent thing. I can understand why you'd want it on a EXE- it looks cool for an application to "float" over the desktop. But I thought we were talking about HTML.Hmmm....
