Save & Publish File Locations Confusion

Best practice is to work from your hard drive only, and if needed, copy and paste the entire folder to different locations (server, hard drive, wherever). Be sure Lectora is closed before copying the folder. Personally, I work from the default Lectora location My Documents/My Titles/Name of Title, then copy the folder to the network for backup. When you publish, if you keep the default Destination Folder, the correct folders are created. If you change the publish location, you do need to create new folders, but can do so in the destination path. For html publish, Lectora wants an html folder; for AICC, it wants aicc/html; for SCORM, it wants SCORM/html. You can see what Lectora wants in the default Destination Folder. If you don't create the folders it wants, that's when you get the "Cannot publish to the same path" error as it can't put the published files in the same root as the .awt file. You should be able to publish to any location you wish, as long as you give Lectora the folders it wants.I'm not a big fan of Save Copy of Title as I'd prefer to do a copy/paste myself. It also won't let you change the name of the .awt file which I find annoying, but that's another story.Did this answer your questions?
