One trick I learned was not developing anything but simple template design and navigation first. Then I'd wait on the final versions of both English and Spanish content to be delivered from our Training Project Managers. After getting the content I had someone do a word count comparrison (don't know how to do that myself). I'd compare the two languages by page and determine the greater length of the two (always Spanish), then find the page with the largest content area of all. That would then be my base text area for the entire course regardless of language because now I knew the content with the most font characters would fit - everything else was less.Granted there was still a few tweaks here and there depending on paragraphs and column spacing but generally planning for and doing that leg work up front saved me a great deal of time later.
