Problems with SWF files in Lectora running on IE 10
April 4, 2013 12:00 AM
Does anyone know if the newest version of Lectora fixes any issues with .swf files running on IE 10?
I was told that the current e-Learning programs we developed are not running on IE 10 and we incorporate Flash
files into them. We learned that converting Flash animations to Javascript will enable it to run in HTML5, but we
are wondering if the new version of Lectora can alleviate this issue?
I will have to convert all existing flash animations to javascript and then bring them into Lectora.
Any advice or experience would be great.

I took an swf.
Put it on a page in Lectora X.
Published and viewed in IE10.
Worked great.
I took another swf.
Put it on a page in Lectora 11.
Published and viewed in IE10.
Worked great. Again.
Then I went to the forum and asked you for any details beyond "not run" and "don't work" and got none. You will not get much assistance until you explain your issue, provide examples and be generally cooperative. Also, you can start by putting a Flash file in Lectora yourself to see what happens.
P.S. Congrats on your new job.

Thanks.... I am sorry I don't have more details than that. I was told their lessons were not working at all.. what more can I say :) I am simply jumping in here for them to see what I can find out as far as anyone else having issues.
I wanted to verify how you felt confident that the files will work in IE 10. I need to be able to go to them and let them know there shouldn't be a problem.
I am going to play with a trial version of Lectora now and see if I have issues.... They haven't purchased 11 for me to use yet.
thanks...no need to be sarcastic
I just checked: both Lectora X and Lectora 11 have no problem displaying swf files in IE10. So what kind of issues are you referring to exactly?

Where did you verify that...?
The company I just joined told me their current Lectora Lessons would not run on IE 10 and that the swf files were not working either..
I wanted do some research to see if there is a way around it or if the new version enables the flash to work.
Have you worked with swf's in IE 10 recently?
Didn't mean too. By the way, if you need an older demo version of Lectora, PM me.
