Problem with .flv and swf files when viewing in Google Chrome
June 10, 2013 12:00 AM
Actions and events attached to .flvs and swf files are not firing when viewed in Google Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110 m. From the Google forum, it is a known issue with no fix at this writing. One workaround I have found to work is setting the action on the page versus attaching to a .flv or .swf. For example, if a show event is on the .flv audio, it will not show in Google Chrome unless I edit the transition tab to show the object at the appropriate time.
This also impacts pages with multiple .flv and/or .swf files on a page.

I found a fix on stackoverflow:
Just insert it as external html. I left the type as Custom DIV and it appears to work.

Most of the time, my audio files won't even play after being triggered by an on-click action. Sometimes I might be lucky and have the first audio play, but not the second file. I just became aware of this today and sent an e-mail to tech support. This can be really bad if we cannot allow people to view our courses in Chrome.
I have been informed that Google has fixed the Chrome Flash bug in version 27.0.1453.116 m. Make sure you select Tools/About Google Chrome to get the latest update.
