Which variable values carry between AUs?

Hello!

I need some help with a 3 AU course. The course must trigger a print certificate button once each of the three AUs have been completed. My user defined variable of course name at the title level carries through each AU, but variables that are changed after some action within each AU do not seem to pass. For example, the course has three AUs and within each is an assessment and certificate. Once the user passes the assessment, a congratulations page is displayed with a hidden print certificate button. I tried show print certificate button if each module assessment is passed – the button has three conditions, one for each assessment.

I’ve tried using completion settings, I’ve tried using Final Assessment Score all to no avail – any insight or help is greatly appreciated!
