Printing essay answer

I'd like the user to be able to print what they've typed in an essay question. I created a print button, and added the print action. However, it only prints what shows on the page. If the user has typed more than what shows, he/she can see what's typed by scrolling, but printing only shows what's showing on the screen. Does anyone know if/how this can be done? Thanks in advance!
