page limit in Table of contents

I have a 127 page title. If I include all the pages in the Table of contents, none of them show up. So to test it, I started with 5 pages and kept adding 5 pages at a time. When I got up to about 50, the table of contents window pops up but nothing is in it.
am i missing something?

Can it be that the 50th page has some strange character in the name or something?
