Nesting Groups within Groups

Well here’s what I just encountered: Our older templates built with either an earlier version or service pack has a group within another group. They function fine, but if I separate them I can’t place them back inside each other using 2007 sp5. So I guess this was either a fixed glitch or an ability since removed.
