Mobile device detection script

Hello...
I'm creating some courses that need to be accessible via the browser and the iPad. I've got my content in 2 seaprate chapters - one for the browser and one for the iPad. When the course is launched (from CourseMill) I want to run a script to detect if the user is coming from an IPad and redirect them to the appropriate chapter in the course.
I followed the idea from this article Creating Mobile Learning with Lectora & Lectora Online but it's not working for me.
Have any of you had success doing this yet?
