Missing characters in library

When I click the Insert > Characters option the listing is blank. Does this happen to anyone else?

The Lectora Inspire 17 suite was removed and reinstalled and it works now. On the initial install we also noticed that SnagIt and Camtasia did not get installed but they did on the second install.
