Lectorra + 508 + JAWS = Disapointment

Longdesc is certainly a requirement for Section 508 (section 1194.22 criteria a.)With HTML it is possible to create a drag and drop question that responds appropriately to keyboard input and can be answered by a person relying on Jaws. You really believe using a text box for a table column header (rather than having a real table column header) is a good idea???Not all disabled users are totally blind. Some can sort of see well enough but require highlighting to assist them.Dreamweaver does not promote itself as being Section 508 compliant in the way lectora does, so comparing lectora to it is not very meaningful.Certifying work is part of what usability labs do.I strongly disagree that the skill of authors is not a lectora issue as the tool is promoted as easy-to-use and programming-free. [Can you explain how to implement the Assignable Unit property of "Max Time Allowed" with a time limit action of "Exit With Message"?] Anyhow, perhaps the courses your clients want are fairly straightforward but ours are anything but. And perhaps you're a much better lectora author than I am.As I said at the beginning of this thread I'm disappointed that courses we've built with lectora don't work well enough to be accepted by the people who rely on assistive technologies.Andrew Poulos
