Lectora to Access CGI Script

Hey Michael:

Here is where things get hairy. I say that because this is the point where free work and costly work diverge.

There is a lot of information you have there that is not just based on the test score and the user information. I understand you have to capture it in order to know who did what, and it is all doable. The specific thing that will be a challenge is "number of attempts" For this you will have to have an exact way to specify who the user is. Like an issued userid or something. Then you have to have a way to enter them into the database prior to test taking.

You will have to do the same for company information. This will have to be in the database and linked to the users prior to taking the exam. If you have the users enter in the company information manually, there will be 100 different entries per company.

I could develop the interface you will need to manage all of this information, but I am afraid this falls far outside of the scope of free help. If you want to manage user information manually, I will help you develop the more simple connection script free of charge. What I mean by that is this. 1. Cut out all of the company and user based information. Keep that information somewhere somehow at your discretion. 2. Issue each user a userid that they will use when starting the course. 3. Use the database to capture only the information about the test itself. a. UserID b. Course c. DateCompleted d. Score e. Pass-Fail f. NumberOfAttempts

If you make those changes to your datacapture process, making that will be easy because it only needs one table. If you can go that route, I'll help you create the database and help you make the changes to your course that is necessary to write to the database. If you do, in fact, need to capture all of the information you provided. I'll be happy to provide a quote to take care of the work.
