Lectora / Flash Question

Melston74, you say that you've used this approach in the past with no problems. What is different about these simulations and/or this current approach? Have you tried pointing directly to the swf file instead of index.html?

melston74 said:I've got a frustrating Lectora (2006) / Flash problem. I'm hoping I can get some ideas. Here's the situation: We had a rather large Flash simulation developed for use in my course. This Flash file is actually broken up into several "pieces" - within the simulation's folder (titled "sims") are the following files: index.html, a couple of supporting .swf files and two folders that have a host of subfolders containing various screenshots, audio files, etc. When played directly from my desktop, it's very simple to run - double click the "index.html" icon and everything runs fine. Within my Lectora course, I have a button with the following commands in the "ON CLICK" tab: ACTION: GO TO TARGET: WEB ADDRESS WEB ADDRESS: sims/index.html OPEN IN NEW WINDOW After I publish my Lectora course, I copy the "sims" folder - along with all of its contents - into the published files. The sims folder resides on the same level as the published files. However, when I view the course on our LMS, nothing appears in the new window (for a while, IE was indicating the presence of a JavaScript error, but I was able to resolve that. Right now, IE does not indicate that there are any JS errors). This is a technique that we've used numerous times in the past to launch simualtions developed in a similar fashion. So far, I've attempted the following, all obviously with no luck: 1. Move all sim files to reside on same level published files (i.e. no "sims" folder") & edit button to point to "index.html" 2. Edit button to point to "index.htm" (not "index.html") Any ideas/input that anyone can suggest would be greatly appreciated..thanks!
