Lectora adding visible garbage code when embedding external HTML

Hi, I inserted a long html page using an external .txt file. When I view the page after publishing, there are several strange characters that aren't in my HTML that appear at the top of the page as shown here: http://screencast.com/t/vWiC3SK8OO.
Looking at the page using Firebug, reveals that the characters are put there by Lectora in association with embedding the external HTML as shown here: http://screencast.com/t/sBcmssiq.
How can I get rid of this code Lectora is adding in?
