Lectora 2005 and CSV import -- new line.

Hi all,I have been using the Lectora 2005 CSV import. The good news is that it works! The bad new is that I can not find a way to import new lines. In the below example I need I., II., and III. on new lines in the question. And no I can not reengineer 80 questions.Q: "What 2 colors are my cats?I. greenII. redIII. black"A:"I and II""II and III""I and III"It was suggested using rtf formatting for new lines which is "/par". But this did not work. If anyone finds a way to do this please post.Note I was only able to create a well formatted CSV using Access not excel.Thank you,SimonEdited By: spuleo on 38351.4222685185

You need to specify that the text will use CSV formating, here is a good reference site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Text_FormatSo in this case the question text should look like this in the file:{rtf What 2 colors are my cats? par I. greenpar II. redpar III. black}Here is an example CSV file you can import, which does bold text too: 2004-12-30_162034_truefalsewithbold.zip. This file can be opened and saved within Excel.I do see one problem with importing text that contains hard returns. The import utility does not auto expand the text to show the new paragraphs. To work around this for now, you can either double click inside of the text block, Lectora will then expand it or simply go into the title properties and change the default text size. This will cause Lectora to go through all of the text boxes and resize them appropriately. You may then change the text size back to the original.

Aaron, Sort of related here is how do I import a csv file using something other than Arial 10pt. I need questions in 12 point, but when I change the base font, the answer text blocks do not resive horizontally, just vertically. This complete screws up the question formatting in a multiple choice environment. Can you offer a solution?

aselman,What build/version of Lectora are you using? You can find the build number the help/about box.It worked fine for me using Lectora 2006 SP2 and Lectora 2005 SP4a. I updated my example to have the true/false question display 'false' in Arial 24 and it sized the text box correctly. Here is the question I imported:True/False,{rtf Hello!par This is some {b bold} text},2,1,TRUE,Correct Feedback,{rtff0fs48 FALSE},Incorrect FeedbackEdited By: aaron on 2006-5-22 21:32:46
