Lectora 12 and IE8

Is anyone else having an issue with the new version of Lectora and IE8.

I have a very long lesson created and tested months ago, set to launch JAN 1 that worked fine on our company sets. I made some small tweaks and created a new Scorm package with L12 and now we're having all kinds of issues with our company sets using IE8.

Some sets will not load the lesson at all -- they just get stuck trying to load the first page. The sets that do load, the text is all blurry and hard to read. Some pictures are blurry as well. Pages take longer than normal to load. When you mouse over a button it leaves a black outline around the button.

The lesson works fine in Chrome, FireFox and IE 11 but 99% of my company's sets (many 1,000s of them) still use IE8. So using a different browser is not an option.

Anyone had this same issue? Solutions?

(AGAIN, very large company, a different browser or an update is not an option for end users)

Hello,

Having the same problem here. Not sure what if any fix might be available. I have contacted support and I hope they may have a fix...

Hi guys,

There is a fix for the text issue. Check out: http://lectora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23926

There is a small change needed to a js file for this.

As far as the blank first page, I got this too at first. What LMS are you guys using?

Hi everyone,

I have been discussing this issue with support. The IE8 issue causing blur is being fixed in the next patch coming soon. ;)

We know why it is happening and some of it we can fix, some of it is down to Microsoft. It concerns a filter that we are using to improve the viewing experience.

Yours

Simon

We use SABA.

Thanks, I saw that fix in the other thread and tried it. It seems to help with the blurry font but the other issues persist with IE8.

Actually it seems turning Compatibility View off on IE8 fixed our loading issues. One of the admins near me couldn't load this particular lesson with IE8 and after I turned it off, the lesson loaded. I know they've been telling people in the field with the loading issue to try this and I haven't heard any further complaints (not my dept. though) so I assume it's working.

Now, we're just left with the blurry pictures and button weirdness but at least that's just cosmetic.

Hi again,

In our modules not only was the text blurry but most of it completely failed to load / display at all. I rebuilt five course back into version 11.3.2 and republished them, then re-uploaded them to HealthStream (LMS).

Tried compatibility mode, that was a complete no go. Course did not even load at all. Works fine on IE 9+

I have FTP'd one of the courses to support so they can take a look. Hoping there is a fix!

Cheers!

Jack
