I can't view the Flash movie

I received a course from another designer and the course is pretty much complete. The course has several short movie clips that were converted to .swf files from mwv files. When I view the page with the movie it appears to be blank but when I right click the animation icon and view the properties it is pointing to the overview.swf movie and publish the course to HTML and run the index.html file it does not show the movie. I have made sure that I have adobe Flash player and Shockwave. The previous designer says the movie plays for her...what am I missing?
