How to Mute the Audio of an Imbedded FLV Audio File in Lectora?

You can collect and pass variables from one flash file on one page to another flash file on another page in Lectora. By doing this you can keep the audio muted from one page to another. It is a bit complicated to set up, but once you get it working you can duplicate pages and change out the swf files and keep the sound volume constant from page to page in Lectora.

We recently had a request to build a mute button so that users could turn off the audio narrations globally and just read the text script if wanted. However, since all of my events on the page like bulleted text and images are controlled and timed using the event tags of the FLV I can't simply create a variable and turn the play off and on. If the player is turned off or paused no actions will occur on the page. Any ideas on how to actually mute the sound from the player?
