How much is too much?

Thanks for the info -- I'm so used to working with projects off the network by default, I didn't think about that as an issue. Moved the project over locally, and am seeing a big difference in performance. Didn't think my PC was an issue (XP Pro, Dual-Core 2.6Ghz, 3.5 GB RAM), but we've been having some network lags with InDesign files populating graphics lately and, stupidly, I didn't consider that as my problem here! Thanks again.
