How much is too much?

Question on your set up:

Are you running the program AND data locally, or from a server? Lectora doesn't play well with others from a server.

What's your machine stats?

I've edited multimedia rich content with multi-actions on each question, with way more than 30 questions and never saw a hiccup.

With each question added to a test (or title), Lectora chugs an extra gasp whenever the question is edited or a new one is added. I've put together a 20-item test, and after about question 10, it takes a good 5-8 seconds to add a new question or apply changes to an edited one. I'm considering a title that will have about 20-30 tests of 20 items each and am worried about how bad the lag is going to get. There are no complicated graphic or audio elements -- almost all inherited stuff. I'm using a lot of hide/show action combinations on these pages and some variable manipulation, but even on tests with very straightforward presentation, I find that question add/edit functions really bog down quickly. This is a stand-alone application, so I could do all the functions required outside Lectora's Test function, but I may want to submit these results to an LMS down the line, so I'd rather keep it in that realm. Any thoughts or anyone who's experienced something similar? Thanks in advance.
