It is not called an Index, but a Menu. Go to the Add menu, then Object, then Menu.We have used this feature as an index. It allows you to build a menu of terms that users rollover and you can set it up to navigate them in a number of ways from the menu. We have used it so they roll over a term and it pops up a list of pages in the course the user can click to navigate to. It is fairly manually intensive but works.
