Get Back to Where You Once Belonged

Despite the cleverness of Bruman's solution, I'm still having problems getting my parent page to continue processing after the child page is closed.
Bruman's solution worked great in that it got me to the point in my Lectora code that I wanted to get to. Unfortunately, I can't get the Lectora actions that follow that point to execute.
To review: I have a parent page that displays a question and its answers for the student. Student selects their answer. Parent spawns a child page popup to display feedback. Student reads feedback and clicks -anywhere- (outside of the child page) to close the child page (please don't ask me WHY we can't simply have a CLOSE button on the child page, we just can't). At this point, the parent page needs to start up again and perform additional actions.
Everything works great up to the "start up again" part. Bruman's solution gets me to the right place but I can't get anything to "start up again."
I've got a feeling that this is another one of those "unclear of the concept" moments for me. So, please clarify.
Thanks (again).
