external html - worked in older versions, doesn't now!

The reasons for using this method date back over 5 years - there is indeed a post on here if you search for function Launch Window. However, somewhere along the way, Lectora fixed whatever it was that caused uis to have to dom this - the pdf file can be launched in its own window with the goto webaddress so problem solved.
