Empower - inserting video that is hosted on my website - problem when publishing

I am trying to add a video to my Snap Empower animation and I am attempting to link to a video on the web. The URL in the file location dialog works fine, the video appears on the slide and I can preview it - however when I attempt to publish to swf, I get an error saying that it can't find the video. I am using the format http://mydomain.com/myfile.flv

I sure hope this is something dumb because really need to keep my file size down and linking to a remote vid should really help.
