Dropbox Pro rendering HTML5

Hi all,

I am aware that recently Dropbox removed HTML5 rendering from the standard accounts, however this functionality is still available for Business and Enterprise.

Has anyone had any success using the dropbox platform to render and host multi page modules? I had a very quick test and noticed when sharing the index.html link, the text contents were read, but it wasn't reading any images. Would the 'Next' buttons in the module have to be linked specifically to the dropbox url link instead of a lectora go to next page action?

Does dropbox rely on a single packaged html file, or can it also render all images and connected files?

I've done some research and all information regarding rendering HTML5 on dropbox has seemed to be storyline specific.

Thank you for any assistance!

Public folders still work on Dropbox, for example: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11433463/branchtrack/lectora/bt-lectora1622-sample/html/index.html

Hi Jennifer, from what I have read, they have discontinued the service for 'pro' accounts, but it is still works for 'business' and 'enterprise' accounts till October of 2017 (unless I'm missing something)

Sergey - That's great to know you've actually been able to do it. I've had 3 conversations with their sales dept who have said it is possible but with no further help. I've emailed their technical support team, who respond with an automated response with a link to their troubleshooting page - great help..

2 quetions - Did you load that example with a business/enterprise account?

Also, how did you get it to 'read' the lectora files? Did you dump all the published lectora files into dropbox and just share the index.html url? Thanks in advance.

All of the reports I've seen about DropBox and Google Drive have pointed to the fact that you no longer can use either to share misc HTML pages. Instead you have to purchase your own server space either via a website hosting service (HostGator) or server hosting service (Amazon). Right now I'm pointing to my items that have shared on the Contest and Share section of the community on my new site and pull down anything I had on my old one.

DropBox and Google Drive use to let you point to the index.html which would run your Lectora course. So unless something has changed I would say yes but maybe Sergey can shed light on his experiences.

Dropbox does still work for now but (as Sergey says) you need to make sure that you put your files into the 'Public' folder (i.e. not a folder that you create and make public/share).

Support for this will end next September. Details here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/16

Here's a tutorial explaining how to achieve this using Amazon S3 too. Might be a good option for some:
