Disable keyboard nav & entry boxes

I am using kitchenSync which contains code to disable keyboard navigation. I have some text entry boxes in my project and if anyone attempts to use, for instance, the backspace key to correct a typo they have made in the text entry box, then the user will get the alert that keyboard navigation is disabled. This can create an annoyance for users.What are my options?
