Current Page in a Chapter or Section to Hide Navigation buttons
July 9, 2015 12:00 AM
I am trying to hide a back button if the page is the first page in chapter.
So I have my Navigation buttons at the top of my course. They are inherited in every chapter.
So for the first page I just need a Hide Action with the following condition.
Variable--------- | Relationship | Value
PageInChapter | Equal to | 1
That should hide the back button on the first page
Now on last page how would I do it?
Variable--------- | Relationship | Value
PageInChapter | Equal to | ???
I cant make the value a variable ? Lectora knows how many pages in the Chapter using the Variable PagesInChapter. But how do I compare two variables ?
Is this the right approach. Any thoughts would be appreciated !

You can simply write "VAR(PagesInTitle)" instead of a value. Or click on the tiniest of arrows in the bottom right corner of that input field to bring up the "Use Variable" dialog. See the attached pic.
P.S. I would just disinherit the buttons on respective pages but in the light of your other question, you can't do that if these buttons are in a group.

Amazing thanks for that. I will use it right away.
(Yes disherit would save me some hassel but I want to group items to that the Title Exlplore is not complex). And I want to build in as much functionality as I can)
Check out the "Show buttons for hiding objects in the Title Explorer" option in your Preferences.
When you turn this on, you'll see an additional expand/collapse + or - icon in the Title Explorer at the Title, Chapter, and Section level. Selecting this allows you to collapse items at that level to clean up clutter in your Title Explorer.

@dfleary, @lsilver, what do you think about making the objects on a title level collapsible? Like if they were in a group, only just visually, to avoid uber-long title explorer scrolls?

What a great feature!
But for me with online it is not present. What a great shame !
