Creating Intermittent Menu Showing Progre

Setting up an Intermittent Menu Showing Lesson Progress1. In Lectora, select Tools-Variable Manager.2. Create and define a variable for each lesson to be included in the menu. 3. Set its initial value to zero. To ensure users can return to where they were before exiting, check the “Retain Value between sessions” checkbox. 4. Go to last page of each module, regardless of whether it’s a quiz page or not, and set up an On Show Modify Variable action at the page level. Target should be the name of the lesson's variable, Introduction, for example, and its value should be the one assigned to the lesson - 1 in this case, as it's the first lesson. 5. Set up the menu page at the very end of the course in a chapter of its own; disinherit the page numbering and page counts to avoid having extra pages show up in your page count. Then go to your page count action at the course level and insert the finite page number for the course in the variable field. 6. Find a graphic (checkbox for me) to use to display to show lessons are complete. Copy/paste it on the menu page and in the position you want it to show. 7. Name each graphic the individual number values you set for the page action values. My lesson "Introduction" had the value of 1. So, I named the check box next to the Introduction lesson, 1. 8. At the page level on the Menu page, create an action for each lesson. 9. The Menu Actions should have these selections: On Show, Show, named graphic as Target 10. Conditions should be set up to Perform Only If, Variable (Lesson Name) is Equal To Variable # (1 for the Introduction) 11. For this menu, I set up transparent buttons over the lesson titles and set the On Click properties to Go To the first page of each lesson. 12. On the last page of each lesson, I set up a non-standard Next button to go to the Menu where they are instructed to select the next lesson. I sure hope this helps someone. Once I figured it out, it was pretty sweet.
